Bridges Randle was working for the Memphis Police Department when he and other officers responded to a domestic disturbance call from a woman at a Hickory Hill apartment. After the officers left, the victim said, Randle came back to her apartment, forced her into a bedroom, and raped her at gunpoint.
In 2004, Randle was prosecuted for an unrelated case and sentenced. In connection with this prosecution, Randle’s DNA evidence was collected.
According to prosecutors, DNA evidence from the victim’s rape kit was uploaded into CODIS.
